Crofters' is a cosy wee bistro specialising in home-cooked food, Scottish Craft Beers and Spirits and regular live music. Previously known as Fiddlers', Crofters' has earned a reputation for being quirky, innovative, entertaining, and welcoming. We are committed to providing imaginative vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes, alongside the very best of local produce, Scottish meats and seafood. We put on live music 5 times a week, which is provided by an array of talented local and visiting artists. The core team at Crofters' are highly experience professionals, many of whom have worked in the industry all over the world. We take pride in our business; we are passionate about Arran and delivering the best possible experience of authentic island hospitality, with warmth and humour.

 

Now going into our 6th season we are looking to compliment our FOH team with an energetic, experienced and enthusiastic individual. Previous hospitality experience is vital with a good working understanding of coffee, cocktails, beer and spirits, food preparation and cellar management. An appreciation of live music is required and a musical background would be ideal. References to demonstrate ability to work under own initiative within busy, high-pressure environments, are crucial. The ideal candidate has a strong personality and a sense of humour to join our family.
The responsibility of the role will include, but is not limited to: all aspects of the Steps of Service Handbook to deliver service to customers including: greeting customers, table management using our online booking system Simpleerb, informing our customers of our products, taking orders using M’aitre’d, running food & drinks, clearing tables, making drinks to order and serving those at the bar, cleaning glasses and equipment and maintaining stock levels – all whilst maintaining a friendly, professional demeanour.

In addition to steps of service, the role will involve housekeeping duties; cash handling, including cashing up and completion of excel worksheets, administrative paperwork, use of the booking system, and maintaining lines of communication within the business.
