Some hours a week may also be allocated to kitchen duties including cold food preparation (salads, sandwiches, sweets), assisting the chef with starters, sweets and veg prep waiting-on at breakfast, lunch and dinner, clearing of glasses and empty plates, washing up, cleaning certain areas, answering the telephone and some reception duties (such as taking accommodation bookings and dinner reservations). General assistants required 6/8 weeks placement for busy cafe/bar/shop on Isle of Iona. Free accommodation is provided with this position, good hourly rates, bright kitchen overlooking the sea. Duties include, basic food preparation, sandwiches and salads. General cleaning and  dishwashing. Serving hot food and drinks to customers.
